The work

Where the wood comes from

Our wood is never cut for us. It comes from trees that fell in storms or of old age, almost all of it from Rhode Island and the Connecticut border.

The wood decides a lot. We spend time finding the right slab for each project, and a crack, a knot or a natural edge often ends up as the best part of the finished piece.

How a custom order works

  1. Tell us what you need

    Call, message or stop by with a size, a room and a rough idea. A phone photo of the space helps.

  2. Pick the wood together

    We show you slabs that fit, and you choose the one you want living in your house.

  3. We build it in Westerly

    You get updates while it’s on the bench, then pick it up at the shop. Ask us about delivery.

The mobile showroom

We bring finished pieces to craft fairs and markets around Rhode Island and Connecticut, so you can run a hand over the grain before you buy.
